Some 65 years ago it has been collected, although rarely, on the beaches of Port Said (Moazzo, 1939). This Mediterranean record has been overlooked so far in studies dealing with Lessepsian migration. The National Mollusc collection of the Hebrew University is also in the possession of an old sample of <i>Callista florida</i> from off Port Said.
