The relative food values of 9 species of marine algae were evaluated according to the copepods' development time (length of period from hatching to reproductive maturity). Individuals fed on <i>Dunaliella tertiolecta</i> or <i>D. primolecta</i> developed the fastest. The rate of feeding of the adults on <i>Dunaliella primolacta</i> was determined. In the temperature range 17° to 31.5°C, the shortest development time (7 days) was at 26° to 28°C.
