Control measures were taken and yearly experiments were carried out to study their effects on the presence and activities of the oyster pathogen. The period of small-scale experiments (1982-1984) showed a sharp decline of bonamiasis, but the further results of large-scale experiments in 1985 and 1986 showed an asymptotic trend of decline.
