These data are summarized in connection with some ecological parameters. <i>S. selecta</i> is nearly always found together with <i>S. stagnalis</i> . The ecological niches of both species appear to be almost equal. <i>S. selecta</i> seems more tolerant for higher chlorinities than <i>S. stagnalis</i>.
