In the sister-chromatid exchange test an effect was obtained that was not enhanced by the inclusion of a system for metabolic activation. In the <i>Salmonella</i> test, an effect was only obtained by including rat-liver homogenates derived from rats treated with inducers of the enzyme systems necessary for metabolic activation.
