One of these pathogens inducing mortality in aquariumheld French angelfish <i>Pomacanthus paru</i> and gray angelfish <i>Pomacanthus arcuatus</i> is <i>Brooklynella hostilis</i>. This cyrtophorine ciliate was isolated from the gills and examined for the first time with scanning electron microscopy.
