Seinging was the sole means of capture. The season of capture and food selection and an overall predator-prey relationship were compared, in addition to a general description of the food selected.<i>S. barracuda</i> were found to actively feed from two hours after sunrise to two hours before sunset. Schooling forms of fish constituted the majority of the barracuda's diet, with <i>Anchoa mitchilli</i> the major food source. The barracuda indiscriminately selects any species whose size is comparable to the preferred prey size of the barracuda.
