These data were used to calculate the degree of saturation of calcium carbonate in the east Indonesian deep-sea basins, with respect to calcite, and carbonate dissolution. Changes in total CO<sub>2</sub> are compared with changes in oxygen content and used to calculate organic matter decomposition.
