Previously, a positive H-growth rate correlation had been documented for younger individuals from the same cohort examined here. By the time of the present study, however, there was an inverse correlation between H and growth rate. This reversal of the H-growth rate relationship suggests that differential mortality, particularly among small homozygous individuals, had occurred.
