The species is present in the harbour of Zeebrugge. The specimens were adult but rather small, less than 1 cm. Some juveniles where also found. A striking feature was the colour of the shells beeing brightly pink/red. In other aspects they resemble the variety rosea (Brown). In the Zeebrugge harbour the conditions are brackish. Other molluscs living there are e.g. <i>Cerastoderma glaucum, Petricola pholadiformis, Mya arenaria, Mytilus edulis, Crassostrea gigas</i>.
