Ce relevé a été fait au moyen des renseignements donnés par la littérature et notamment par les travaux de du Plessis, de E. Stechow et de moi-même. D'autre part, lors d'un séjour effectué à la station biologique, en mars 1933, j'ai pu déterminer le matériel que j'ai récolté et celui qui m'a été fourni par le sous-directeur de la station, M. le Dr. Trégouboff. La liste faunistique qui suit indique la présence de quatre-vingts espèces d'hydropolypes dans la rade de Villefranche. La faune d'hydraires est très riche parmi les algues de cette grande cuvette naturelle; des recherches ultérieures augmenteront certainement notre connaissance sur les espèces qui vivent dans cet endroit.
