Repetition of the 24-hr program is automatic and the system requires no attention other than periodic inspections and the time necessary for making the appropriate program changes. Control is achieved through voltage changes in the power fed to the operating unit, thus the controls are quite easily adapted for use on any arrangement or instrument whose performance can be varied by voltage changes. The lighting system used in this laboratory illuminates 21 square tanks, each 3 feet wide, with one 10-watt, frosted, incandescent light bulb and wide bay reflector centrally positioned 3 feet from the water surface of each tank.
