Using the lsquoEdge indexrsquo (ITOH, 1970) this species could be classified as an omnivore. Pictures obtained by light and scanning electron microscopy reveal that the mandible teeth ofE. affinis have a molar-like structure, which likely changes in functional morphology with developmental stage, sex and age of the adults.
