Has been discovered in a lowland brook, the Raambeek, at Heistop- den-Berg in N.E.-Belgium in 2005. The species name <i>P. coxalis</i> sensu auct. Is preferred since there is no decisive conclusion on the definition of the species (<i>P. coxalis</i> or <i>P. banyulensis</i>) and the different subspecies. The locality is situated in the upper reach of the lowland brook. At the site the brook has been transformed into a ditch. De water is very slow to stagnant, brownish, circumneutral (pH 7-7,5) and poor in oxygen (± 2,5 mg O2/l). The bottom is covered with a thick layer of litter and silt. The water vegetation is, apart from floating conglomerates of filamentuous algae, restricted to a few <i>Iris pseudacorus</i> and <i>Juncus effusus</i>.
