Larvae of 3 species of <I>Hyadina</I>, 4 species of <I>Lytogaster</I>, and <I>Pelina truncatula</I> Loew were reared from colonies of soil-inhabiting species of <I>Cylindrospermum</I>. Larvae of <I>Axysta cesta</I> (Haliday) were found in a colony of <I>Lyngbya</I> growing on moist tree leaves near a shaded pond. Species of <I>Hyadina, Lytogaster</I>, and <I>Axysta</I> appear to be trophic specialists, as they have been reared only from colonies of blue-green algae.
