The 9-cm-long animal was collected during the <i>Polarstern</i> Cruise (2007–2008) from off Queen Maud Land (Antarctica) at about 2,100 m depth. <i>Alexandromenia heteroglandulata</i> spec. nov. is characterised, among other features, by two different types of spawning duct glands, as well as by at least four types of glands associated with the foregut.
