The new taxa are described on the basis of shell morphology only. Shells of <i>Paolaura</i> gen. nov. are similar in shape to the genus <i>Granulina</i> Jousseaume, 1888, but these are clearly distinguishable by having three striking features: a) a strong spiral sculpture partly or totally covering the teleoconch surface; b) a microsculpture all along the shell aperture, covering labrum and rostra; c) the presence of a labial varix.
