The wave conditions during an extreme storm event in particular were determined by doing numerical wave penetration modelling. Comparison between both a linear (MILDwave) and a non-linear (Mike 21BW) wave penetration model and comparison with field measurements shows that the influence of a long navigation channel and short crested waves cannot be neglected.
