It now appears that the age of the Deville group in the Ardenne (more precisely the upper part of this group) should be broadened to include not only the middle and late Lower Cambrian, but also the early Middle Cambrian. The Revin group comprises several well dated levels between the middle late Middle Cambrian to the latest Upper Cambrian. The lower part of the Salm Group (the so-called Sm1) comprises strata of early and late Tremadoc age. The age of the uppermost part of the Salm group (Sm3b) lies between the Llanvirn and the early Caradoc. Within the Brabant Massif, recent investigations of several boreholes have enabled the relative ages of the Oisquercq and the Mousty «assises» to be reconsidered, and the problem of their synchronism or diachronism to be addressed. If the fossiliferous samples prove to belong to these «assises», acritarchs would indicate a Lower or early Middle Cambrian age for the Oisquercq (comparable to the age of the Deville group) and an approximately Middle to Late Cambrian age for the Mousty (comparable to that of the Revin group). Comparison of the different areas studied shows a probable synchronism of the Deville-Revin boundary, the later possibly coincident with that between the Oisquercq and Mousty; a likely unconformity in the Revin group of the Rocroi Massif; sedimentary variations in the Cambrian (Mousty lacking in some places) and the Ordovician (Tribotte facies restricted to the Dyle area) of the Brabant Massif comparable with block faulting phenomena; existence of? eustatic late Tremadoc regression and contemporaneous unconformities; a possible confirmation, by means of bathymetric criteria, of a subdivision of Lower Palaeozoic strata into 3 megasequences, and a correlation of this cyclicity with that observed in southern Great Britain. Cette confrontation des données fait apparaître, pour l'Ardenne: un groupe de Deville (plus précisément la partie supérieure de ce groupe) dont la fourchette d'âges devrait englober, en plus des parties moyenne et supérieure du Cambrien lnférieur, la partie inférieure du Cambrien Moyen; un groupe de Revin comprenant une succession de niveaux bien calés dans le temps, s'étageant au moins des parties moyenne à supérieure du Cambrien Moyen aux parties les plus élévees du Cambrien Supérieur; une partie inférieure du groupe de la Salm (Sm1) qui possède non seulement du Trémadocien inférieur, mais aussi du Trémadocien supérieur; une partie supérieure du groupe de la Salm (Sm3b) dont l'âge reste à préciser au sein d'une fourchette Llanvirn-Caradoc inférieur. Dans le Massif du Brabant, des recherches récentes sur divers sondages ont permis d'envisager sous un jour nouveau le vieux problème de l'age respectif des «assises» d'Oisquercq et de Mousty. Pour autant que les échantillons fossilitères étudiés soient représentatifs de l'une et l'autre «assises», les acritarches indiqueraient un âge Cambrien Inférieur ou Moyen pour Oisquercq (comparable à celui du groupe de Deville) ainsi qu'un âge approximativement Cambrien Moyen à Supérieur pour Mousty (comparable à celui du groupe de Revin). La comparaison des diverses régions étudiées indique: le caractère probablement synchrone, d'un Massif à l'autre, de la limite Deville-Revin et la possibilité de corréler cette limite avec celle entre Oisquercq et Mousty; l'existence vraisemblable d'une vaste lacune stratigraphique dans le groupe de Revin du Massif de Rocroi; des variations de sédimentation dans le Cambrien (absence locale de Mousty) et l'Ordovicien (Tribotte limité à la Dyle) du Massif du Brabant, comparables à ce que l'on observe dans des phénomènes de tectonique de blocs; l'existence d'une régression (d'origine? eustatique) tarditrémadocienne et de lacunes contemporaines; une possible confirmation, par le biais de critères bathymétriques, d'une subdivision en 3 mégacycles des couches de l'ensemble du Paléozoïque lnférieur, cyclicité qui se corrèle avec celle observée dans la partie méridionale de la Grande-Bretagne.
