It uses information availed up to the end of 2007, and where possible comparisons made with past data to assess trends. It will be used as a basis for triggering further contributions for compilation of a final version that will cover 2008. This is done as part of an initiative geared towards instituting a standardised biodiversity monitoring system across the region.
