To understand these interactions requires co-located, simultaneous, high temporal-spatial resolution measurements of the three components of this interacting sediment triad. To study the triad, acoustics has been increasingly utilised over the past two decades. The development and application of acoustic systems capable of measuring near bed hydrodynamics, suspended sediments, bedload and bedforms is now contributing significantly to the measurement of sediment transport processes.
