The test area is situated in the former county of Flanders on the border area of Belgium and the Netherlands. Here, during the later Middle Ages and the 16<sup>th</sup> century, marine influence had greatly ravaged the old medieval landscape. The 16<sup>th</sup>-century flooding in particular, carried out for military reasons, had wreaked havoc and covered large parts with sediments. An interdisciplinary and international collaboration project was set up by the Universities of Ghent (Belgium) and Wageningen (the Netherlands), with the aim of reconstructing the medieval landscape; this poster will present a short survey of the research results.","AbstractOtherLang":null,"BibLvlCode":"AM","StandardTitle":"Reconstructing disappeared landscapes of wet areas.
