They belong to two different genera which are; <i>Pettiboneia</i> Orensanz, 1973 and <i>Protodorvillea</i> Pettibone, 1961. These two genera were not heretofore recorded from the Mediterranean Egyptian waters. The three reported species tend to coexist in the bottom samples of the Eastern Harbour of Alexandria, which may reflect a notable change in the benthic polychaete fauna in the Eastern Harbour and then in the polychaete fauna of Egypt.
