These may result in the absence of a swimbladder  (Paperna, 1978), osteological and  morphological malformations (Marino et al., 1993), and variations in body pigmentation (Gartner, 1986), all of which can directly affect the market value of the product and result in inferior growth performances and survival rates (Paperna, 1978; Chatain, 1987). As a result, they have important implications for production management with regard to market forces, and the profitability of the enterprise.
