This document presents the applied method and resultsfor (Atlantic) Flanders (northern Belgium). Of the 47 occurring habitats, 5 are in a favourableconservation status, and 7 habitats that have currently an unfavourable conservation status improve.For the species the picture is more diverse. Of the 59 species, 9 are in a favourable conservationstatus, and 14 other species improve. However, 17 species worsen, while for the remaining 28species the conservation status is stable or data are inadequate to assess a global trend (27 % and 20% of the species, respectively). A comparison of the results of this reporting period with the previousone (2001-2006) is difficult. The reasons for this are that since 2007 the scientific knowledge hasincreased, fixed policy goals have been set with an accompanying implementation trajectory in theframework of setting conservation objectives, and guidelines to assess the conservation status havebeen further adjusted by the EC.","AbstractOtherLang":"Een rapportage over de staat van instandhouding van de habitattypen en soorten van deHabitatrichtlijn voor de periode 2007-2012 dient eind juni 2013 door elke lidstaat overgemaakt teworden aan de Europese Commissie (EC). Dit document geeft de gehanteerde methodiek enresultaten weer voor (Atlantisch) Vlaanderen. Van de 47 voorkomende habitattypen hebben er 5 eengunstige toestand, en kennen 7 habitattypen die momenteel in een ongunstige toestand verkereneen verbetering op het terrein. Bij de soorten is het beeld meer verdeeld. Van de 59 soorten zijn er 9in een gunstige toestand, en gaan er 14 andere op vooruit. 17 soorten gaan echter achteruit, terwijlvoor de overige 28 soorten de toestand stabiel is gebleven of gegevens ontoereikend zijn om eenglobale trend in te schatten (27 % en 20 % van de soorten, respectievelijk). Een vergelijking van deresultaten tussen deze rapportageperiode en de vorige (2001-2006) is moeilijk.
