Among 45 ostracod species of the late Frasnian, 12 survived the Frasnian-Famennian biological crisis and are dealt with detail herein. Seven of these species are new and 5 are formally described: Westmontia devilensis nov. sp., Decoranewsomites angelicus nov. sp., Acratia \"Cooperuna\" nevadaensis nov. sp., Bairdiacypris martinae nov. sp. and Bairdiacypris anteroangulosa nov. sp. This assemblage does not contain any metacopids and the survival of some species is considered to be related to the \"Lazarus effect\". The surviving species were probably ubiquitous, and they seem to have subsisted in a very shallow-marine environment and during the influx of hypoxic water onto the shelf. Such a shelter possibly played the same role for the survival of the ostracod fauna at Coumiac, France.
