In this study, five taxa, bearing close resemblance to established taxa but with distinctive features are described and illustrated using scanning electron microscopy. The five new taxa are named Achnanthidium pseudodelicatissimum, A. flexuistriatum, A. glyphos, A. pseudochamaepinnularia and A. scalariforme.
