Meteorological data were obtained from ECMWF(http://www.ecmwf.int) for selected periods in the near past.  Emissions data for nitrogen containing gases were taken from EMEP (http://www.ceip.at) with grid resolution which matched the one of the weather data.  Lagrangian Particle Dispersion (LPD) techniques (http://transport.nilu.no/flexpart) were used to compute the transport in the atmosphere and the deposition of these nutrients onto the sea and the nearby land.  Preliminary results of this 'local' model show lower deposition quantities of nitrogen oxides than the corresponding quantities obtained by the EMEP 'wider region' model.
