Limnoria tripunctata was found in abundance in a stranded creosoted board, whose origin was not known. Lyrodus is by far the most abundant Teredinidae. With Teredo and Limnoria, it causes damages mainly to the chestnut poles used in oyster-farms. Some information about wood-borers biology and epibionts is given.
