The number of Decapoda currently known from this part of the Syrian coast is 88, of which 15 are Lessepsian migrants. Among the latter, four are reported for the first time from Syria: Alpheus lobidens De Haan, 1849, Ixa monodi Holthuis & Gottlieb, 1956, Micippa thalia (Herbst, 1803), and Thalamita poissonii (Audouin, 1826).
