This faunule appears to be spreading northward along the Levant Coast. The distribution of H. feegeensis, a shallow water species ranging throughout the entire tropical Indo-Pacific and Western Atlantic Regions, is discussed in detail. Palaeontological data suggest that H. feegeensis gained access into the latter region by penetrating the Panamanian Corridor during the Tertiary.
