The ultrastructural morphology of the four types of cells of Lamprey's epidermis is descrihed. 2. Principal cells produce mucus droplets in the vicinity of an important Golgi system. These cells contain a solid array of tonofilaments and are firmly attached to each other by numerous large desmosomes. Near the surface, they transform into border cells where the mucus is excreted through the surface in parallel rows of droplets. 3. The large club-like cells are filled with a considerable amount of filaments slightly thicker than the tonofilaments of the principal cells and contain little of the normal equipment in cytoplasmic organelles. 4. Besides their large homogenous grana, granular cells cytoplasm has a finely granular texture that seems to be a sign of degenerescence. 5.
