On land, this amounted to a geographical extension of the limited UK network, particularly into northern Scotland and Shetland. At sea, new techniques have been developed in order to deploy and maintain a continuously recording system with sea-bed sensors linked via a spar buoy to MobilTs production platform, Beryl Alpha.
