This is done by comparing experimental towing tank tests with numerical computer calculations. In chapter 2, necessary theoretical concepts are explained, needed for a full understanding of the topic. Furthermore, various com- puter software are presented and explained. Chapter 3 discusses the shallow water towing tank set-up and proposes an experimental program that will be carried out in the towing tank. Chapter 4 makes an extended discussion of the data recorded during the towing tests and concludes with a discussion of how the various numerical calculation results were obtained. Chapter 5 then makes a comparison between the experimental results and the numerical calculations.
