Scott are described here, <i><i>Laophontodes</i> horstgeorgei</i> sp. nov. from the littoral zone of a sandy beach on Viti Levu (Fiji Islands) and <i><i>Laophontodes</i> sabinegeorgeae</i> sp. nov. from different depths on the Patagonian continental slope (Magellan Region, Chile). Furthermore, <i>Laophontodes bicornis</i> A. Scott and <i><i>Laophontodes</i> whitsoni</i> T. Scott are both redescribed in detail, to provide further unequivocal morphological data in preparation of a future extensive phylogenetic analysis of the subfamily Laophontodinae. As a detailed phylogenetic evaluation of <i>Laophontodes</i> is still pending, the allocation of the newly described species is made tentatively, basing on the information so far available.
