Several other <i>Cocconeis</i> species, encountered during sampling campaigns in Kerguelen (Southern Ocean, Indian Ocean sector), also share such processes, including <i>Cocconeis hauniensis</i> Witkowski and <i>Cocconeis germainii</i> Riaux-Gobin, Witkowski <i>et</i> Romero.
