Daily consumption rates of this calanoid differed markedly in these layers, being 1 and 11 μg ind <sup>-1</sup> d<sup>-1</sup>, respectively. The cyanobacterial taxa, <i>Lyngbya contorta</i> and <i>Microcystis</i> sp., accounted for more than a half of the ration. Nevertheless, the negative Ivlev electivity coefficient indicated that <i>Arctodiaptomus</i> prefers none of these two taxa.
