Currently applied techniques for preservation of <i>Artemia</i> biomass (e.g. blast-freezing or drying) are often cost prohibitive and in several cases not applicable at the remote and scattered sites where the <i>Artemia</i> biomass is available. An inexpensive technique which can be readily applied under field conditions and allowing to stabilize and retain the nutritional quality of <i>Artemia</i> at ambient temperatures, would greatly enhance the exploitation of this resource for aquaculture.
