Cluster analysis and multidimensional scaling (MDS) ordination were applied to detect zonation patterns and some ecological parameters (e.g. species richness, abundance and biomass, mean weight, diversity and evenness) were calculated for each assemblage. For each area, analysis of similitude (ANOSIM) and similarity percentage analysis (SIMPER) were also applied to detect differences between seasons and depths. For the most important species (<i> Galeus melastomus , Scyliorhinus canicula , Centroscymnus coelolepis , Etmopterus spinax , Squalus blainvillei , Raja naevus , Raja asterias , Raja clavata , Raja miraletus and Raja oxyrhinchus </i>), abundance and size distributions were analysed by depth.","AbstractOtherLang":null,"BibLvlCode":"AS","StandardTitle":"Demersal assemblages and depth distribution of elasmobranchs from the continental shelf and slope off the Balearic Islands (western Mediterranean)","OrigTitleLangCode":"en","OrigTitleLangCodeExtended":"eng","OrigTitleLangID":15,"DateLastModified":{"date":"2026-04-19 01:31:50.812394","timezone_type":1,"timezone":"+02:00"},"UserAccessRight":null,"UserAccID":null,"AuthorKeywords":"Balearic Islands; community structure; demersal elasmobranchs; length frequency; trawl surveys","OtherDescriptors":null,"Notes":null,"AnaPub":2003,"MonPub":null,"DateUpdate":"2017-07-17","DateCreate":"2017-07-17","SecASFANote":null,"ConfID":null,"PeerRev":1,"VlizCoreFlag":1,"WoScode":"WOS:000184396600005","VABBcode":null,"OpenAcc":1,"DOI":"10.1016/s1054-3139(03)00089-4"},"refs":null,"anarec":{"AnaID":286707,"PubliDate":2003,"Pagination":"753-766","XtraPublOfAnaID":null,"ISBN":null,"Volume":"60","Issue":"4","BRefMon":null,"BRefMonRR":null,"BRefXtra":null,"BRefXtraRR":null,"SerBRefID":44710,"SerRR":"ICES Journal of Marine Science.
