The thick shell, already damaged by the action of perforating sponges, is carved into galleries and cells harbouring perforating bivalve molluscs like <i>Petricola lithophaga</i>  (Philippson, 1788) (Petricolidae) and <i>Gastrochaena dubia </i>(Pennant, 1777) (Gastrochaenidae).
