The list includes 230 species in 118 genera and 59 families. Fish species were principally identified visually. These were complemented with collections using different fishing methods and by sampling fish capture in ships in the area. The best represented families by number of species were: Serranidae (23); Labridae (13); Scaridae (13); Pomacentridae (13); and Gobiidae (12).
