For the Deep Sea Guide (DSG) development a simple web interface was started, delivering useful tools in order to present these concepts and associated information. Using JSP and Java programming, the VARS Java libraries and objects were reused. Two different kinds of search tools have been implemented including a quick search and a taxonomic tree. The beginning design of the MBARI Deep Sea Guide has been implemented and is described in this report.
