The material was obtained from a collector of puerulus larvae of spiny lobsters, anchored at Punta Coyote, Gulf of California, Mexico. The new species differs from the others, by the head with eyes devoid of ommatidia; keel subquadrate; maxilliped inner plates almost fused; accessory flagellum of one tiny article; coxa 1 vestigial a bifid anteroventrally and distal part of propodus of pereopods 3–7 bearing an unusual small fissure.
