This chapter challenges this consensus and presents the fruits of a large-scale project based on over 25,000 notarial contracts registered in Amsterdam between 1580 and 1776. These contracts reveal the extent of economic transactions between Jews and Christians. The author shows the role played by legal constraints in these transactions and outlines the changing geographical and economic patterns of cross-religious associations.","AbstractOtherLang":null,"BibLvlCode":"AM","StandardTitle":"Cross-cultural business cooperation in the Dutch trading world, 1580–1776.
