Two groups of periglacial phenomena were recognized. One, related to a permafrost environment, include ice wedge casts and toundra gleys; the second, due to seasonal frost action or repeated frost and thaw cycles, include frost cracks, cryoturbations and creep or solifluxion mass movements.
