One of these species, Szczerbak’s even-fingered gecko <i>Alsophylax szczerbaki</i>, has perhaps been extirpated. The presence of a further two taxa, i.e., long-legged bent-toed gecko <i>Tenuidactylus longipes</i> and multi-ocellated racerunner <i>Eremias multiocellata</i> is unclear (but both probably absent), whilst the standing of Turkestan salamander <i>Hynobius turkestanicus</i> remains an enigma.
