This species is found on various substrates, builds different types of tubes according to the sediment and must be tolerant to this sediment. A description is given of larval development, from egg laying to juvenile stages. Then larval settling conditions on the substrate as a function of its granulometric structure are verified. On the other hand, in situ observations on the population, relating to peculiar aspects of colonization on a priori unfavourable sediment, are viewed together with developmental type and ethology.
