Validation is conducted against the experimental results of tests carried out with a scale model of DTC in the Towing Tank for Manoeuvres in Confined Water at Flanders Hydraulic Research (in co-operation with Ghent University and in the framework of the SHOPERA project). Following the numerical study of the ship resistance in calm water, the increase in resistance introduced by incoming waves for different advancing speeds is computed.
