This study revealed a bryozoan fauna typical of nearshore conditions in water between 5 m and 50 m deep. The hydrodynamically most stable position (convex side up) is not equally exhibited by the different species of shell and relatively large numbers of shells have the concave side uppermost. A total of 55 species of Bryozoa were encountered: five ctenostomes, seven cyclostomes and 43 species of <i>Cheilostomata</i> were identified. Larval recruitment, time of colonisation and the most common encrusting species are discussed.
