The higher resolution data, together with increasing data analyses tools, give new impetus to a more uniform geomorphological mapping of wider marine areas. To test approaches in sandy shelf areas, a multi-scale analysis is performed on data from the Belgian part of the North Sea using the Bathymetric Position Index (BPI).
